I hope you all doing great. Today I am going to share with you all very popular South Indian Recipe “Rava Uttapam” or some people say “Vegetable Uttapam” I love South Indian Food and Flavors , especially their authentic blend of spices . Rava uttapam is made by firstly making a batter of Semolina, Curd and some seasonings , then topping this better with fresh mixed vegetables. This recipe is great for breakfast .
1. Semolina (Rava/Sooji)- 150 – 200 Gm
2. Curd- 150 Gm
6. Green Chili-1
7.Fresh Coriander Leaves
10. Chili Flakes- 2 Tsp
11. Mint Powder- 2 Tsp
13. Baking Soda – 1 Tsp
BATTER :Firstly we make a batter of Semolina(Rava) by adding Curd and water to it. Add the curd and semolina in the proportions I mentioned above, Now add water to this to make the batter of flowing consistency . Now add salt, baking powder, chili flakes and mint powder and mix everything together. Now rest this batter for 15-20 minutes
TOPPING: Now in a mixing bowl, take some chopped onions, Capsicum, chopped carrot, chopped tomatoes, green chilies, and chopped fresh coriander leaves. To this Mixed vegetables we will add some seasonings. Add some Salt, mint powder for the fresh minty flavor and some chili flakes. Our topping is Ready.
Now after giving a rest of 20 minutes to the batter,Take a pan and heat some oil, Spread the batter using a cup in round shape. now top this seasoned mixed vegetables. Cover it for 3-4 minutes on medium flame . After cooking one side flip the uttapam and cook other side similarly. Yummy veg Uttapam is Ready.
Serve Hot with Tomato chutney or Coconut Chutney !!
